【李銘宏／台北報導】1名在台北市中山區擔任廟巡守隊員的61歲陳姓男子，昨天晚上與友人喝酒後，自己一人步行至台北市林森北路與中山北路68巷2弄口時，因不勝酒力倒臥在路中，當時正巧1名洪姓男子駕車要從林森北路右轉進入巷內，由於洪男視線疑遭巷口一部賣牛排的違停小貨車擋住，洪男竟直接輾過倒在路中的陳男，附近民眾見轎車將人壓在車底，趕緊報案。

警消到達將受困車底的陳男救出時，已經沒有生命跡象，送醫急救後已恢復心跳，警方目前已查扣肇事的小轎車，並將小轎車駕駛以及違停在路口的小貨車駕駛帶回警局偵訊中。

【李忠謙／綜合外電報導】美國有線電視新聞網（CNN）昨專訪菲律賓總統小艾奎諾，他表示「海燕颱風造成菲國民眾萬死」的說法太誇張，實際上應該接近兩千到兩千五百人死亡才對。但他也承認，菲國政府並未料到海燕會帶來如此嚴重的災情。 小艾奎諾表示，政府正設法取得傷亡的最新數據，不過目前掌握到的數字就是兩千多人死亡。至於先前逾萬人死亡的說法，小艾奎諾說，是來自重災區的地方官員估計，他們可能因為身處重災區，才會做出這樣的估計。
