消防署下午說，602強震死亡人數增加為4人。35歲的楊姓男子地震當時在南投縣竹山鎮附近溪谷釣魚，遭土石掩埋，今天已經找到遺體。其他罹難者包括嘉義縣一名54歲劉姓男子遭落石擊中死亡；南投水里鄉新侖路附近山區，一名50歲蕭姓男子遭落石擊中死亡。以及69歲的梁姓男子昨天下午在南投鹿谷鄉興產路附近遭落石砸傷，頭骨破裂，先送竹山秀傳醫院，再轉送童綜合醫院，清晨宣告不治。

消防署說，截至今天下午，南投地震造成全台4人死亡、3人重傷、17人輕傷。
