Apple 醞釀許久的高階桌上型電腦終於來到大家面前，2013 年版的 Mac Pro 採用全新的圓柱造型機殼與大幅提升的內部硬體架構，被稱為是要再戰十年的設計。將搭載 12 核心 256 位元 Intel Xeon 處理器與 1,866MHz DDR3 ECC 快取記憶體，能帶來 60GBps 的頻寬效能。內部放棄傳統硬碟，將跟隨 MacBook，採用 PCIe 傳輸通道的快閃記憶體顆粒（Flash），不過也能透過四個 USB 3.0 與六個 Thunderbolt 2 連接埠（後者共有 20Gbps 傳輸頻寬），讓外接採購較平價的傳統硬碟也能擁有充足擴充空間與傳輸效能。
新版 Mac Pro 也是 Apple 第一款搭載雙 AMD FirePro 顯示晶片的主機，能提供 4K 顯示輸出。全新設計也帶來尺寸上的縮減，僅有過去的八分之一大小。並針對電磁波屏蔽部分加以改進以符合新的法規，預計能幫助他們重返歐洲市場。目前 Apple 尚未公布售價，將會在今年稍晚上市。
