| A好康、搶商機 選秀球員好處多

每回NBA選秀會上，被各隊選中的球員，除了讓David Stern戴上球隊的帽子外，其實他們出場前還獲得很多好康的東西。
選秀前兩天，一些潛在的熱透選秀球員，會被安排進駐時代廣場威斯汀酒店頂樓的房間，Nerlens Noel、Alex Len、 Trey Burke、Anthony Bennett以及一些第一輪就可能被選走的都會在此露臉。
各家廠商會針對球員特質，給他們一些配件，例如手錶、耳機、帽子、手鍊，各式招待券，甚至起士蛋糕。
對這些選秀球員來說，拿到不少東西，對廠商而言，要的是這些球員被選上後，跟隨而來的媒體曝光率，甚至是球員日後飛黃騰達那一刻。
因為NBA這塊招牌，願意投資的廠商非常多，來自匹茲堡的珠寶設計師Moe Syed表示，有人注意到產品，就會來問是誰做的，這就是他們要的。
Syed送給這些選秀球員一人一條約200美元的手鐲或手鍊，也有新銳的潮牌設師出現在這個活動中，希望有一天自己的品牌能藉此廣為人知。
這些球員還沒領到在NBA的第一份薪水前，就獲得一籮筐的待遇，包括航空折價券，甚至包機優惠等。
這種情況日後會越來越常見，前熱火球員Shane Larkin回憶道，父親Barry（前紅人球員，大聯盟名人堂）告誡他說，不要被這些利益讓自己有所改變。
「他說拿了這些東西，獲得數百萬美元的利益後，為人就有所改變，那沒有這些的時候，你又是什麼？他要我保持謙虛。」
