| 1968年首發明 現代滑鼠之父辭世

要操作電腦作業，滑鼠是一項不可缺少的輔助裝置，不過你知道滑鼠是誰發明的嗎？1968年史丹佛大學博士道格拉斯，發明了現代滑鼠的原型，這全球第一個滑鼠，外殼還是用木頭做的，滑鼠之父道格拉斯週二過世，享壽88歲，可惜的是，道格拉斯的滑鼠專利權，由效力的史丹佛研究院取得，史丹佛研究院後來以4萬美元價格，把專利出售給蘋果電腦，道格拉斯並沒有因為發明滑鼠而致富。
滑鼠之父道格拉斯：「這個指向裝置叫做滑鼠，標準的鍵盤和特殊的裝置。」
黑白畫面記錄的是滑鼠之父，史丹佛大學博士道格拉斯在1968年發表全球第一支滑鼠的歷史時刻。滑鼠之父道格拉斯：「運作原理是這裡有滾輪，可以在表面上操作，在螢幕上可以看到它正在運作，事實上這些字，如果我要拷貝，我可以這樣做好多次。」
CNN主播：「這是原始的木質(滑鼠)原型。」
以現代眼光來看，全球第一支滑鼠外型簡陋、功能簡單，跟現代滑鼠根本無法相比。CNN主播「世界失去了一個先驅，這位先驅者在週二去世，他的名字或許並不出名，但他讓今日的電腦工作成形。」
道格拉斯在週二辭世，享壽88歲，雖然發明全球第一支滑鼠，但是他並沒有因此致富，滑鼠專利由當時效力的史丹佛研究院取得，用4萬美元價格賣給蘋果電腦。
80年代，蘋果麥金塔電腦成為使用滑鼠的個人電腦先驅，經過演進，滑鼠越來越進步，從有線到光學無線，外型也越來越酷炫，只是觸控科技風行，曾經風行一時的滑鼠，未來命運究竟如何，恐怕要讓時間來證明。
