| 亞股開盤反彈 漲勢仍受壓抑

【陳智偉／綜合外電報導】在美股收高帶動下，亞洲股市周二開高，表徵整體行情的MSCI亞太指數反彈0.8%，扭轉周一收盤大跌1.5%，創2周來單日最大跌幅的窘境。
不過，投資人雖樂觀期待美國企業財報及經濟前景，但對中國政府緊縮信貸及資金緊俏問題仍心存顧忌，漲勢受到壓抑，包括日本、南韓、澳洲、紐西蘭股市，漲幅不超過1%。

| 婦遭誤判腦死 器捐摘器官前突然甦醒逃過一劫

【綜合報導】美國一家醫院發生嚴重醫療疏失，醫生並未按照規定程序，治療昏迷的女病人，草率裁定她已腦幹死亡，並接著展開捐贈器官手續。在手術中，女病人突然睜眼，救回自己一命。
2009年10月，紐約聖約瑟夫醫院(St. Joseph Hospital)接到服食過量藥物昏迷的41歲女病人伯恩斯(Colleen S. Burns)。醫生逕自裁定伯恩斯已經腦幹死亡，並向她家人提出捐贈器官建議，但準備進行摘除器官手術時，伯恩斯卻突然睜開眼睛。
國家衞生部門進行調查，相信伯恩斯當時因為服食過量藥物，處於昏迷狀態。但醫生跳過了規定的醫療程序，又沒有替伯恩斯進行腦部掃描，便草率判定她腦幹死亡。當伯恩斯的「屍體」被送往手術室、準備要切除器官時，護士發現她手腳、嘴唇同舌頭有反應，還可以自行呼吸。
護士曾提醒醫生，但醫生沒有理會護士的意見，堅持進行手術。幸好伯恩斯及時甦醒睜開雙眼，避過剖肚一劫。
但在16個月後，伯恩斯還是自殺身亡。醫院並未主動通報，企圖向當局隱瞞此事，經調查後，被罰款6000美元(約台幣18萬元)。
