《科技》Hot Chips 25落幕，台積大贏家

【時報-台北電】全球半導體業界年度盛事之一的高效能晶片Hot Chips 25大會，上周在美國史丹佛大學熱鬧登場，包括IBM、甲骨文（Oracle）、富士通、微軟等均發布最新高速晶片，其中甲骨文開發的SPARC M6、富士通開發的SPARC64 X+、及微軟XBOX One的8核心處理器等，均採用台積電28奈米高介電金屬閘極（HKMG）製程生產，台積電可說是今年Hot Chips 25大會中的最大贏家。

近來有關台積電28奈米產能利用率將在第4季大幅下滑的消息不斷，業界甚至還傳出台積電可能降價搶單消息。

不過，根據近期密集與台積電接洽的設備業者指出，台積電第4季28奈米新產能雖然持續開出，但新訂單已經見到回流，第4季28奈米產能利用率已回升到85％左右，而且現在晶圓代工業界中，仍只有台積電能提供28奈米HKMG製程足夠產能，所以並沒有降價搶單動作。

台積電中科12吋廠Fab15第4期工程將在第4季開出28奈米新產能，但台積電上個月卻因不想降價，導致大客戶高通將低價版手機晶片訂單轉下給三星及格羅方德（GlobalFoundries）。

當時來看，台積電第4季28奈米產能利用率可能降至8成以下，但隨著新單開始見到回流，產能利用率預估可順利回升到85％。

據了解，台積電第4季拿下的28奈米新訂單，包括繪圖晶片大廠輝達（NVIDIA）新一代整合4G LTE基頻晶片核心的Tegra 4i智慧型手機單晶片、超微新一代火山群島（Volcanic Islands）繪圖晶片、超微Kabini及Temash等加速處理器等，當然，還包括了來自聯發科、展訊等新款四核心手機晶片。

另外，台積電主要客戶今年在Hot Chips 25大會中揭示的新一代超高效能處理器晶片，包括甲骨文今年推出新一代12核心SPARC M6處理器，核心數較前一代增加一倍；富士通則推出新一代16核心SPARC64 X+處理器，核心時脈提高到3.5GHz以上；微軟在XBOX One採用的8核心處理器，首度納入最高等級繪圖晶片核心及周邊矽智財。

據了解，微軟XBOX One處理器在第3季開始投片，甲骨文及富士通新款處理器晶片第4季將陸續展開投片動作，均成為台積電第4季28奈米產能利用率得以優於原先預期的主因。(新聞來源：工商時報─記者涂志豪／台北報導)
