大陸8月份消費、投資以及工業生產等宏觀數據均呈現大幅好轉，作為觀測經濟重要指標的用電量亦出現連續四個月回升的良好態勢。根據經濟參考報獲悉，大陸2013年8月全社會用電量年增13%以上，創下25個月新高。業內人士認為，大陸宏觀經濟走穩已成定局，但在新政府穩中求進的政策思路下，這種復甦將是平穩緩慢的，改革的推進將帶來機會。
根據接近大陸國家能源局人士透露，8月全社會用電量年增速超過13%，較7月8.8%的年增速大幅上升了逾4個百分點。
廈門大學中國能源經濟研究中心主任林伯強指出，大陸8月全社會用電結構中，受氣候因素影響較大的居民用電等僅占14%左右，比重較大的仍是工業用電；顯示工業好轉是大陸8月用電量大幅成長的主因。
