每年進入9月份，大聯盟除了季後賽門票的白熱化爭奪大戰之外，幾個年度大獎也成為球迷相當關切的消息，以本季的美聯眾球星表現來看，如無意外底特律老虎隊的卡布雷拉(Miguel Cabrera)應該可以順利蟬聯MVP的寶座；而在國聯方面卻不像美聯一樣明朗，眾家爭鳴的結果就是形成了「人人有機會，個個沒把握」的情況。

以目前的成績來看，呼聲最高是匹茲堡海盜隊的麥卡臣(Andrew McCutchen)，以今年海盜隊不僅達成5成勝率的基本目標，而且還有機會拿到季後賽資格，對於麥卡臣拿下國聯MVP可說是相當有利的幫助，再加上全國聯最高的WAR(貢獻指數)，這些都讓麥卡臣在MVP殊榮的競賽中取得領先優勢；只不過3成21的打擊率、5成14的長打率、20支全壘打、27次盜壘和82分打點，這些數據雖然都有一定水準，卻也都不是各個單項排行榜中的領先者，過於平均卻不甚突出的結果就是讓麥卡臣能否將MVP大獎穩穩抱回家成為一個問號。

雖然在1956年增設賽揚獎之後，投手贏得MVP的機會就下降不少，但是並不代表「最有價值球員」的這個頭銜就一定是專屬打者所有，在前年的美聯就曾經有過瓦蘭德(Justin Verlander)一個人包辦賽揚獎和MVP兩項大獎的情況，而本季也有洛杉磯道奇隊的克蕭(Clayton Kershaw)在國聯表現搶眼，頗有囊括兩項大獎的趨勢。以克蕭的成績來看，雖然不像2011年一樣再有超過20勝的表現，但是不論自責分率、投球局數和奪三振次數都可望寫下生涯新高，WAR在國聯也是僅次於麥卡臣的7.8，除了勝投之外，克蕭在多項排行榜上都是國聯的領先者，以突出程度來看，克蕭確實比麥卡臣更具拿下MVP的優勢。

另外亞利桑那響尾蛇隊的高史密特(Paul Goldschmidt)也同樣是得獎機會相當濃厚的候選人之一。高史密特本季有著國聯第一的35支全壘打、122分打點和5成57的長打率，雖然WAR略遜一籌，不過以傳統的幾項數據評估來看，高史密特的表現可說是可圈可點，絲毫不輸給麥卡臣或是克蕭。只是本季響尾蛇隊雖然有著5成左右的勝率，卻落後道奇隊多達11場勝場差，就連外卡也已經確定無緣，球隊戰績成了拖累高史密特的主要原因，縱使有著長打的領先優勢，恐怕也難以得到評審委員的青睞。

其實國聯幾位有機會角逐MVP的球員或多或少都有劣勢存在，也有球評認為本季的國聯並沒有什麼讓人真正能為之亮眼的球星，不過畢竟每一個成績都是這些球員努力的成果，雖然能得到MVP的只有一人，但是能夠得到評審委員的選票也算是一種肯定，至於最後獎落誰家，就等季後賽結束之後再一一揭曉了。

【都會中心／台中報導】今天上午8時許，台中市消防局獲報神岡區神洲路一間汽、機車零件製造工廠發生火警，消防局立即派出豐原、神岡、后里、大雅、潭子、頭家厝等分隊前往現場搶救，幸好火勢隨即由員工自行撲滅，雖造成9人灼傷或嗆傷，但送醫後均無大礙。

消防局初步勘驗現場後發現，起火點為三樓電鍍區清潔工作間，燃燒面積約10平方公尺、損失約10萬元。工廠廠長及組長2人因搶救不慎輕微灼傷，另有7名員工因輕微嗆傷不適，分別送往豐原醫院及清泉醫院就醫，但均無大礙。
