【王毓健／綜合報導】英國網球一哥穆雷(Andy Murray)雖因背部手術，確定缺席ATP(Association of Tennis Professionals，男子職業網球協會)年終總決賽，但去年奧運金牌、美國公開賽冠軍，今年在溫布頓錦標賽打破英國77年單打冠軍荒，功績仍獲肯定，凌晨獲頒大英帝國最優秀勳章(The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire)。
 
穆雷和母親茱蒂(Judy Murray)與女友席兒絲(Kim Sears)一起出席，由英國皇位第2順位繼承人威廉王子(Prince William)授勳。
 
大英帝國最優秀勳章1917年設立，屬於騎士爵位(Knighthood)，共分爵級大十字(Knight/Dame Grand Cross)、爵級司令(Knight/Dame Commander)、司令(Commander)、官佐(Officer)、員佐(Member)等5級，2個爵級才能在姓名前加「爵士(Sir)」銜，但5個等級都能在姓名後加勳章縮寫簡稱，例如穆雷獲得官佐級勳章，以後姓名全稱就是穆雷，OBE(Andy Murray, OBE)。
