【李忠謙／綜合外電報導】一隻野生母紅毛猩猩日前被印尼蘇門答臘島的村民捕獲，牠被帶回村子裡拴在一根插在地面的木棒上，村民們不給牠吃喝，而是輪流戲弄虐待牠藉以取樂。有村民看不下去，暗中聯繫英國在當地的動物救援組織。救出這隻可憐的紅毛猩猩，將擇日把牠野放回大自然。

英國《每日郵報》報導，這隻紅毛猩猩被村民拖回村子以後，被眾人圍著戲弄折磨，因為身上栓了一條繩索，想跑也跑不了。幸好有正義村民通知駐紮印尼的國際動物救援組織。救援人員趕到將這隻母紅毛猩猩救出，並移置救援中心。

《每日郵報》稱，生物學家認為一百年前有31.5萬隻紅毛猩猩，但經過人類濫殺，如今印尼只剩一萬出頭。因此救援小組不只救狗，還教導村民們不可濫抓濫捕，以免對物種或生態造成傷害。

【施旖婕／綜合外電報導】以色列北部在本周出現多達6次的小型地震，雖然震度只在3~4級，但已引起當地人不安，擔心會發生大地震。

以色列政府指出，如果以色列發生大地震，恐怕會造成7千人死亡、20萬人無家可歸，目前政府已下令做好防災和救災準備，當地許多電視台也陸續推出地震的相關知識節目，教導民眾如何防災和避難。

以色列位處非洲板塊和阿拉伯板塊之間，在1927年曾經發生大地震，當時造成數百人死亡。
