馬來西亞7日維持基準利率不變，以支持經濟成長，即使削減燃油與糖補貼已升高通膨壓力。這是馬國央行連續第15次會議未提高基準利率。

馬來西亞央行在聲明中說，隔夜政策利率仍維持在3%。這項決定符合彭博資訊調查20名經濟學家一致的預測。馬國央行每兩個月召開決策會議，上次升息1碼是在2011年5月。

為改善財政以避免債信被降級，總理納吉繼9月提高汽油價格後，10月又取消糖補貼。9月的通膨已升到20個月來最高水準，使央行面對既要抑制物價、又得支持經濟成長的艱難決定。

新加坡瑞士信貸集團經濟學家薩西拉塞說：「在財政政策降低擴張性、和總體審慎措施抑制信用成長下，我們認為馬國央行還不急著提高隔夜利率。」

馬國政府上月預測，2014年馬國經濟成長率可望達到5%至5.5%。

9月的消費者物價比去年同期上漲2.6%，高於8月時上漲1.9%。政府預測2014年通膨率平均為2%到3%。

馬元兌美元匯價7日下跌0.07%，報3.1827馬元兌1美元；今年來跌幅達4%。

渣打公布最新渣打人民幣環球指數，9月指數升至1,183，較8月上升3%，主要受香港和台灣人民幣存款增長帶動而提升。

離岸人民幣存款增長占9月指數增幅60%。香港人民幣存款升至7,300億人民幣，而截至9月底，台灣總人民幣存款達987億人民幣，占當地總存款量1.4%，與香港10%比較，台灣人民幣存款仍然有大量上升空間。

跨境人民幣支付同時帶動指數增長。9月，倫敦在眾多離岸人民幣市場中按月錄得最大增幅達15.7%。根據SWIFT數據﹐第3季人民幣企業結算增長強勁﹐讓歐洲與亞洲看齊。倫敦以外其他與中國有貿易往來的主要歐洲城市例如法蘭克福﹑巴黎﹑日內瓦﹑羅馬和阿姆斯特丹將同時帶動人民幣貿易結算。持續性的優惠政策例如英國與歐元區與中國大陸最近簽署的貨幣互換協議﹐也帶動指數增長。
